This is NOT a Bill Pay issue.
Printing manual checks. In the address box there is a button 'Other Addresses' that shows a list of other addresses associated with the Payee. There does not seem to be a way to remove old or incorrect addresses.
1. Is there a way to remove an address from this list?
2. If not, can this be added to a future update?

Thanks.

How to Change Payee on Multiple Transactions. From within the banking window select all the the transactions you wish to edit. Above the transactions, click on Batch actions, and select Modify selected. In the pop up window, select the payee and category that is appropriate for these transactions, and hit apply.

Yes and no. The addresses shown in that menu are collected from whatever checks are in the database for that payee. So to remove one, you have to go through the database and either (1) change the address in each check transaction for that payee that uses the address you want to remove, or (2) delete all check transactions that use that address. That could really take some time, depending on how many you have. There is a menu Transactions > Show Checks (Command-Option-C) which pops open the transaction to the Checks pane in the transaction Detail which could help a little.

If you really have a lot of them to do, you could automate it using a macro tool such as Keyboard Maestro ($36) to be able to change each one with a single keystroke.

I inadvertently completed all information for a Payee in the Window>Payees List .I'm new to Q2018Mac & thought that it would use that information as name & address when printing checks). That Payee now has a green $ next to it (which I believe indicates BillPay which I don't intend to use). I can't seem to be able to delete the Payee entry. I can Hide it, but not Delete (-) it.
If I can't delete it, how do I 'de-link' it from BillPay (i.e. the Green $)?

Does the payee have any uses in the Uses column? If so, you will have to change those transactions to something else before you can delete the payee. After changing them, you can delete the payee and then change the transactions back to the original. You can use menu File > Get Info to change a bunch of transactions' payees at once.

How do I get rid of or change a Payee such that it will no longer have the green $-sign associated with it? I do not use BillPay; my entering the address, etc. was a mistake.

Here's the procedure. Let's say the payee you are trying to remove the green dollar sign from is called 'Acme'..
    1. Select the All Transactions register at the top of the sidebar and the Transactions (not Spending or Income) view.
    2. Make sure there are no filters (Date, Account, Status) set.
    3. In the search box, upper right, click the magnifying glass twice and choose the option to search only Payee/Security.
    4. Enter 'Acme' in the search box.
    5. Click the Payee column heading to sort by Payee and check both ends of the register to make sure you only have Acme payee transactions displayed.
    6. Select all transactions (menu Edit > Select All).
    7. Click menu File > Get Info.
    8. In the Transaction Info window, change the payee from 'Acme' to 'Acme X' and click OK.
    9. Open the Payees window, find 'Acme' (which now shows as unused), select it and delete it using the minus sign icon at the bottom.
    10. Double click the Payee 'Acme X' in the Payee list, remove the ' X' from the end and click Done.
    11. That's it!

Don't worry. I spelled out the steps in gory detail, but it's really pretty simple. Just change the payee in all existing transactions, delete the old name and change the new name back to the old.

William, if all you want is not to have the payee show up during entry of a new transaction, you can just hide it via the payee list rather than delete it.

William, there's a fundamental difference in the Quicken 2018 and Quicken 2007 databases. (Well, there are many, but one that's relevant here.) In Quicken 2007, actual transactions were stored separately from Quickfill Transactions. you could delete a Quickfill transaction, or edit one, and it would not affect any existing transactions; Quickfill transactions were stored to be used for future uses of Payees. It also allowed you to lock individual Quickfill transactions so the same base transaction would come up every time the payee was used.
Quicken 2018 doesn't have this separate data table of Quickfill Transactions. When you use a Payee, it calls up the last-used transaction from that Payee as the base for your new transaction. While that's somewhat similar to Quickfill in Quicken 2007 in some instances, it's different in a number of ways. If you edit a Payee, it changes all instances of that Payee int he database, not just future transactions for that Payee. You can't delete a Payee once it's been used in a transaction. And you can't lock or memorize a transaction to use repeatedly; you always get the most-recent transaction for the payee when you enter a new transaction using that payee. There are some definite advantages to this approach, but also some disadvantages.

Actually, the answer is somewhere in between. Yes, Payees are indexed and transactions reference the index so that when a Payee is changed in the Payee list, it gets reflected in each transaction that references that index.
That said, that is only a partial reason why a Payee cannot be deleted..the fact is that the index is a separate table BUT because of the link between transactions and the index, a Payee can only be deleted IF there are no transactions referring to an indexed Payee.
So the next alternative is to hide Payees that you no longer need..has same effect as deleting from a user perspective.
As to other functionality, implementing a Lock on the Payee is not impossible with this model; they just have not gotten around to it. So, you can add your VOTEtoAdd ability to LOCK a payee and categorization.
