(dots and small lines that are not fully removed by regular noise filters of Neat Video)

  • Enhanced Edge Smoothing function

  • Mix with Original setting to enable mixing of the processed and original frames
(useful when some of the original noise must be preserved in the video)

Optimized workflow
  • Several source frames accessible directly in plug-in window provide a choice of frame for initial profiling and fine-tuning

  • Overall noise levels of the current selection and of the whole current profile are displayed in Device Noise Profile panel (in Advanced Mode)

Faster processing and more responsive GUI
  • Preview is optimized to update faster when filter settings are adjusted

  • Skip Neat Video Processing option to temporarily disable all instances of Neat Video filters to speed up editing in the host application.
Noise reduction is then not applied and the host application works significantly faster, which is especially useful in FCPX.
Neat Video processing can be globally re-enabled when necessary, for example right before the final render. It is also automatically re-enabled by a restart of the host application.

  • Better grouping of filter settings
Filter modules can be enabled/disabled individually to evaluate effect of each module on the overall result

  • Improved preview takes all temporal and spatial filters into account.
This allows to adjust filters individually and in combination as well as to avoid roundtrips to host application for checking the final results.

  • Variants of filtration to visually compare results achieved with different filter settings

  • Multi-step Undo/Redo for filter settings

  • New collection of filter presets with a detailed description of each preset including specification of key settings, purpose, applicability, recommend

  • Estimation of processing speed and optimization of performance settings can now be done directly from Filter Settings panel.
This facilitates optimizing for a specific clip and filtration parameters.

  • Multiple optimizations have allowed to preserve the speed of processing despite its greater complexity
(as compared with the older Neat Video 3)

  • Better support for systems with a large number of CPU cores (32 and above)

  • CUDA Compute Capability 5.0 is now supported on Mac OS X too allowing Neat Video to take advantage of the latest NVIDIA GPUs

    Notes:
    1. Due to changes in NVIDIA drivers and CUDA Toolkit, GPUs with Compute Capabilities 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported.
    2. Mac OSX: NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA Capability 5.0 are only supported in 64-bit applications due to a limitation of the CUDA driver (please refer to known issues).

The following AMD/ATI GPUs are supported:

    • ATI Radeon HD 57xx/58xx/59xx;
    • AMD Radeon HD 67xx/68xx/69xx;
    • AMD Radeon HD 77xx/78xx/79xx;
    • Other AMD/ATI GPUs based on one of the following chip series:
Juniper, Cypress, Barts, Cayman, Cape Verde, Pitcairn, Tahiti
  • Added support for Premiere Elements 11 (in plug-in for Premiere)

  • Improved support for OS X 10.8

  • More accurate GPU speed measurements (in Optimize and Benchmark)

  • Several cosmetic improvements in GUI

  • Minor corrections in the reduced brightness color theme

  • Product registration was not always preserved reliably, fixed

  • Several minor bugs have been fixed

Version 3.2

  • Added support for Adobe Premiere Pro CS6

  • Optimized rendering in Premiere Pro: overall project render time becomes about 10-15% shorter

  • Updated to CUDA 4.2: GTX 680 and newer GPUs are supported; improved performance of GPU render

  • Additional optimizations of filters for multi-core CPUs and GPUs

  • Color themes: normal and reduced brightness options, in Preferences

  • Several bugs have been fixed

Version 3.1

  • Added support for Adobe Premiere Elements 10

  • In Premiere Elements, Neat Video thumbnail added to the gallery of effects

  • Improved stability in complex projects in Premiere CS5.5 and Premiere Elements

  • Optimized use of memory resources when running multiple instances of the filter

  • Updated to new CUDA 4 (improving compatibility with several NVIDIA GPUs)

  • Improved support for new GPUs (Compute Capability 2.x)

  • Optimized use of memory in GPU processing, making rendering more stable and in some cases faster

  • Improved stability of GPU processing for large frames (such as 8K)

  • Improved accuracy of color channel processing in temporal filter; colors in fast-changing scenes are now preserved better

  • Improved behavior of Neat Video viewer when using Apple Magic Mouse

  • In some rare cases, using CPU and GPU simultaneously could produce artifacts, fixed

  • Several bugs in GPU-based processing have been fixed

Version 3.0

Improved quality of noise reduction
  • Improved quality of temporal noise filter
Improved algorithms better detect and preserve details in filtered video data and thus improve the overall visual quality.

  • Improved accuracy of Adaptive Filtration
Adjusting to the changing noise done by Adaptive Filtration option is more precise now, which leads to more accurate noise reduction.

Higher performance: x2 faster due to CUDA-acceleration
  • Faster noise reduction using modern CUDA-compatible GPUs

For example, enabling NVIDIA GTX 470 or GTX 285 on an i7-based computer makes Neat Video around x2 faster.
The speedup may be higher with i5 or Core2 Duo machines or with faster CUDA GPUs.

  • CPUs and GPUs working together
Neat Video can use both CPUs and GPUs at the same time for faster processing.

  • Multiple GPU support
Neat Video works even faster with two or more CUDA GPUs.

  • Optimization of performance settings for multi-core, multi-CPU and multi-GPU systems

    • Built-in Optimizer in Neat Video Preferences
    • Built-in Benchmark to measure processing speed with specific hardware and performance settings
Higher performance (more): x2 faster due to improved filter algorithms
  • Additional performance optimizations in filter algorithms to achieve higher rendering speed
Rendering is around x2 faster than in the version 2 (using CPU alone, even without CUDA).

  • CUDA-based acceleration and filter optimizations combined together enable up to x4 faster rendering as compared with Neat Video v2
